Staff Training and the Future

With technology changes and the evolving methods of learning, research studies show that the future of staff training most definitely includes web based approaches.  Online learning incorporates multiple learning principles to increase knowledge retention; tailoring education to an individual’s learning style, allowing the flexibility to accommodate the difficult work schedules, and reach remote locations. Web based training provides consistent education throughout large and small corporations that aspire to provide quality resident and client care. In the healthcare arena today, Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Healthcare agencies are expected to care for higher acuity resident and clients. The higher level of care that is required today needs an improved knowledge base from healthcare providers. Here are some benefits and value of online education for healthcare providers:

Online learning programs: A library membership service provides cost savings and time savings in research and development and fast deployment of staff curriculum.
High quality content at affordable prices: Renowned authors, educators and subject matter experts provide content for wide distribution of education on affordable platforms.
Quality content for every size of organization: Small organizations can now affordably access the same calibre of educational content that in the past has only been available to only large corporations with education budgets.
Online technology has no boundaries: With constantly improving wireless options, remote staff can now easily access online portals to maintain and improve skills for best practices without travelling to learning facilities. Education courses and inservices may be completed from any computer or tablet device with an internet connection.
Online technology available anytime:  Traditionally, inservices must be provided for all shifts this necessitates inservice repeats and scheduling difficulties. Online education is available any time of the day or night.
Increase in knowledge of all healthcare providers: Learners can self-pace and access online courses and inservices as their schedules accommodate; creating knowledge based atmospheres.
Support for constantly shifting roles:  Online learning programs allow for fast and easy distribution for new skills learning, current skill improvement, and critical skill improvement content without the lag time of classroom or remote based training.
Learning Management System:  All quality, online education should be equipped to provide complete control of your educational goals.  Each facility/agency has unique education goals that the LMS should allow the customization of education according to unique facility needs.
Record Keeping:  Electronic record keeping allows for complete record management of staff for education completion requirements.
Preparedness: Assuring the staff has necessary education and is prepared for state and regulatory surveys; avoiding tags, fees and fines.

The Pedagogy education courses prepare your staff to care for higher acuity residents and prevent re-hospitalizations. They are dedicated to providing the best possible health care education to you or your facility.
